Bringing a fresh and creative approach to any project

In 333 B.C., Alexander the Great invaded Asia Minor and arrived at the town of Gordium. In Gordium, by the Temple of the Zeus, was an ox cart, which had been put there by the King of Phrygia over, 100 years earlier.

The staves of the cart were secured to a pillar in the temple by an intricate and complex knot with no obvious beginning or end. Legend stated that anyone who could release the knot would be able to conquer the Asian lands to the east.

Having arrived at Gordium, of course young Alexander would seek to undo the knot. Having considered the problem for some time and seeking advice from his aides, he took out his sword and sliced through the knot.

As history records, he went on to conquer the rich Kingdom of Persia and the lands to the east as far as northern India.

We see this legend as an amusing metaphor for introducing a new team to an existing problem or challenge and taking a fresh and creative approach to it – exactly what we do here at Gordian Enterprises.
